We Are the Branches

This past weekend, er, this last Friday, there was an “Aids day benefit concert” in the WSU plaza. And then there’s these guy’s I know, have there own band, so I decided to go and take pictures and shtuff…

So as Todd put it: “We are: we are the branches.”

But, its not just about the band… its about the people that the band draws. So, ok… you already know where this is going:

They are the branches… And they have a myspace page… I hate myspace, but I suppose that’s besides the point:

Grust

Dirt.

It’s everywhere, kids play with it, moms hate it, and dad doesn’t know it exists when he gets home. Its described as something thats bad, beneath us (which in fact it is… go figure), but it represents dilapidation, industry, death, life… In some form or another you can apply the word to almost everything, its crazy. So… heres a set of photos about dirt, grim, rust… the whole two bits. Enjoy.

That be all for now, I’ve got band/musick pictures from a concert… but I’ll stop here, gotta have something to write about eh?

Impact

Perspective.

Perspective

Its such an interesting way of thinking about things, or more of an idea of a way of thinking of things. As a photographer, the world is upside down, inside out, its both a blessing and a curse to see the beauty in little things, and to get frustrated when something could be so much better but aren’t.It makes you look at color and composition, lighting and angles, all the things that can make or break a picture. But really, it never ends, a photo is never perfect, there is always something better, and in that way it will never fulfill or satisfy completely. Excellence isn’t a destination, because if it was the best you can do is to reach it, theres a limit. But if your goal is to grow then there is no limit to what can be done.

As a Christian, I’ve come to realize that that is the only thing that satisfies, the only thing that matters is a relationship with Jesus Christ. I know people are offended by it, feel restricted by it, but its not a set of rules, of do’s and don’ts, its a call to be beautiful, a call to grow in every and all way’s possible, to glorify and honor him. No matter what I do, I always find that its never enough, nothing ever has purpose that will matter unless that purpose transcends this life. Its all about perspective. Is it about you? About Christ? Your friends? Family?

Think about it,

It could change your life.

Retro Skate Night

So, this last Sunday my church Youth Group went to high roller in lacrosse and went blading (or skating for those that did) and I brought my camera.

Guess what that means…
