Break.
Ahhhhhhhh, just breath… …breathing is so amazing… …but then… …so is colorado…
Timing, its the one thing that makes or breaks a photo when shooting outdoors, in nature, or in an environment that the photographer doesn’t control. You can get a good photo from almost any circumstances if you manage everything just right, but to get certain lighting, certain colors, requires the time to be correct. As I went through the pictures above I realized how perfect the time was to take those pictures, had we gone hikeing an hour later, I probably would have gotten next to nothing without a tripod, had I gone an hour earlier I may still have gotten some good shots, but many of them would have been subjected to a lot of harsh light that I may not have wanted. Again, there are many ways around this, but without the equipment that one doesn’t pack on a hike, it limits a person’s options in this matter. Moral of the story is to choose your time of day, because it WILL affect how you photos come out, it may give the desired effect, it may not, but know the light, know what it will do and when. Then do your best to use it to your advantage.

You should send some of that Colorado down this way, I could use some….*sigh*
